Micro Gesture Party Mix

Micro Gesture Party Mix was created for an opening celebration alongside the Small Gestures  solo exhibition. For this performance, a music video was created in which several “gesture” models appear to dance to a disjointed electronic soundtrack (a ‘party mix’) that eventually deteriorates into a synthesizer transcoding of the models’ pixel representation. Each 3D model encapsulates the record of two people interacting, so by personifying and anthropomorphising these 3D models a meta-social event unfolds. During sporadic pauses in the music video, Calkin wanders through the audence, handing out the micro gestures (also a ‘party mix’) - PLA versions of the models featured in the video, 3D printed at the smallest possible scale while maintaining their form.
