Pericutaneous space is the area beyond our skin in which our bodies anticipate touch. A type of micro-social space, pericutaneous areas extend as much as a few inches beyond our body, and can trigger the firing of touch-based neurons. The Pericutaneous Model Building Workshop is a play-based approach to structure (and construct) social encounters using a standardized 3-inch measurement with magnetic gloves and rods. During play, the forms created by participants are imperfeclty mapped and recorded into a digital library of pericutaneous models.
